Description

Metal Anti-Slip Stair Nosing adds safety while maintaining an aesthetic appeal. Ideal for commercial interior or exterior applications to help prevent slippage on stairs. This stair nosing can also be used to re-profile and cover polished or chipped stairs. Available with durable aluminum extruded or anodized brass base. Tread grip is made from silicon carbide in an epoxy resin. Silicon carbide has the same hardness as diamonds, so the grip on this stair nosing is very strong. It will not wear, break or fade. Treads come in nine different colors to meet your design needs.

3 Installation methods available: adhesive or mechanical with wood screws or concrete anchors. Note: adhesive method is the recommended method
If installing with adhesive the SikaFlex 291 sealant is recommended as the adhesive. A single SikaFlex tube will cover 32 linear feet with a 1/8" bead. Each stair nosing will require 3 beads to install so take the length of the stair tread multiplied by 3 to get the amount of sealant you will need. So you could install ten 1 ft. long pieces with one tube.
SikaFlex? -291 is a one component, marine grade polyurethane elastomeric adhesive and sealant, manufactured in compliance with ISO 9001/14001 quality assurance system and the responsible care. This moisture cured, non-sag system is designed with a long open time.
If installing with wood screws the nosing is pre-drilled with countersunk holes in the aluminum extrusion. Screws are provided. The vinyl insert is provided but not attached. Once the aluminum extrusion is screwed into place the vinyl insert can be adhered to the surface via the pressure sensitive adhesive on the underside of the vinyl strip. Next, apply pressure to ensure vinyl is well adhered.

Beveled version offers a more gradual rise to the stair tread which is helpful when rolling items across the tread. It also offers less resistance if someone is sliding their feet along the tread.
Stair nosing can be used to re-profile and cover polished or chipped steps
