Floora, did you know InPro builds a corner guard for almost every wall in a building? Seven profiles sit on this page, from a peel and stick strip to a retainer system that outlives the cover on it. Hospitals, schools and hotels specify InPro by model number, so the number matters as much as the color.

Here is what to think about when you choose InPro corner guards:

  • Profile Type
Textured rigid vinyl mounts straight to the wall. Flexible vinyl bends about 10 degrees for a corner that sits off square. Retainer systems screw a backbone to the corner so a damaged cover snaps off and a new one snaps on.
  • Model Number
The BluNose retainer line runs on model numbers. 160BN takes a 2 inch wing at 90 degrees, 150BN takes a 3 inch wing, 170BN is the bull nose and 130BN is the 135 degree.
  • Color and Finish
The textured line carries over 100 solid colors. The Woodland line adds 24 wood grains and 11 Element patterns for a lobby or a corridor that should read as trim.

Buying Tip: Check the corner angle before the color. A 90 degree profile will sit proud on a wide corner, and InPro makes a 135 degree and a bull nose in most lines.

Thank you, Wally! InPro installs quickly once you know what sits behind the guard. Here is how to get it right:

  • Match the Mounting
Textured and Woodland profiles come peel and stick or undrilled for construction adhesive. Clear plastic takes screws, with nails on the 3/4 inch size. Retainers screw to the corner and the cover snaps over the top.
  • Skip the Pre-Drilling
The BluNose vinyl retainer needs no pre-drilling, which takes a step out of a long corridor run.
  • Give Paint Time
Peel and stick tape bonds to a clean, dry, cured surface. Fresh paint needs its full cure before the tape goes on.
  • Order Spare Covers
On a retainer system the cover is the wearing part. A spare cover swaps in without touching the retainer or the wall.

Buying Tip: Measure the wall height where the hits actually land. InPro runs 4, 8, 9 and 12 foot lengths, so a 9 foot corridor takes one piece instead of a joint.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between InPro 150 and 160 corner guards?

The number describes the wing. On the BluNose vinyl retainer line, 160BN takes a 2 inch wing at 90 degrees and 150BN takes a 3 inch wing. The same line adds 170BN for a bull nose and 130BN for a 135 degree corner.

Which InPro corner guard has the most colors?

The textured rigid vinyl line, with over 100 solid colors. The BluNose vinyl retainer offers 100 standard and global colors plus Woodland I patterns. The flexible and aluminum retainer lines carry 86.

Does the InPro retainer need pre-drilling?

The BluNose vinyl retainer does not, which takes a step out of a long run. The aluminum retainer surface mounts through pre-slotted holes. In both cases the cover snaps over the retainer once it is fixed.

Are InPro clear corner guards plastic or polycarbonate?

Polycarbonate. It lets the wall color and pattern show through, and it comes in 3/4 inch, 1-1/8 inch and 2-1/2 inch wings at 4 and 8 feet. The 3/4 inch size takes nails or self-tapping screws, and the larger sizes arrive pre-drilled.

Can InPro corner guards look like wood?

Yes, two ways. The Woodland and Pattern line prints 24 wood grains and 11 Element patterns onto rigid PVC. The Woodland aluminum retainer puts 19 wood grain covers on a retainer system, so the finish can be replaced later.

Which InPro profile suits a corner that is out of square?

The flexible vinyl line. At .110 inch thick it adjusts about 10 degrees in each direction. For a wide corner by design, most InPro lines also come in a 135 degree profile, and the retainer lines add a bull nose.
