Questions others have asked:I had planned to install the treads on an indoor laundry room set of 3 stairs ()not a commercial space). I panted the two wooden stairs and the top concrete stair with latex paint. The specifications recommend not installing over latex paint. How should I treat the painted surfaces as paint removal is not possible at this time. Also, is it OK to use liquid nails Fuze-It multi surface adhesive. It is recommended for rubber but not polyethylene or polypropylene. The product does not say it is a latex adhesive.... THANKS
Hi John, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do recommend removing the the latex paint. You can use a common paint stripper and then a little sand paper. For proper adhesion we do recommend this latex adhesive vs. liquid nails. Our product number A401, https://kofflersales.com/p/stair-tread-latex-adhesive.asp Thank you, The Koffler Team
I would like to use these on stairs that go from our garage down to our basement. While it would be an indoor use, it is not heated in the winter and not cooled in the summer. Will these work?
Hi Mary, Thank you for your question. Yes, these will work as long as it's not exposed directly to the elements it should be fine. Thank you, The KOffler Team
What prevents the product from slipping off the stair?
Hi Steve, Thank you for your question. You would use this adhesive which provides a very tight grip. https://kofflersales.com/p/stair-tread-latex-adhesive.asp Thank you, The Koffler Team
Greetings. Could I use these with a double sided tape made specifically for rubber or vinyl stair tread covers (Polyken 105C-P)? These will be installed on finished oak stairs. Thank you.
Hi Martha, Thank you for your question. If the tape is specifically designed for rubber stair treads, then yes that should work. Thank you, The Koffler Team
Can they be used outdoors on porch steps?
Hi David, Thank you for your question. We would not recommend outdoor use if the steps are exposed to extreme heat or cold. Here is a link to the ideal rubber stair tread for outdoor use, https://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-outdoor-use.asp Thank you, Ron
I have a question. Testing email
Hi Dimitrios, Thank you for your question. The Koffler Team
Do you have any treads with a rubber edge and short pile carpet in the step area? I am doing the interior stairs leading up from the basement and I do not want them to have a "commercial" look.
Hi Anthony, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we have never seen a product similar to what you are looking for. Here is a stair tread that is a little more on the decorative side, https://kofflersales.com/p/stair-tread-mats.asp?cid=50 Thank you, The Koffler Team

The russet colored stair tread #181 is not marked with a 'v' for indoor use. I wish to use it in an outdoor temperate climate (non-freezing). Do you recommend its use?
Hi Charles, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the V doesn't indicate outdoor use. The only rubber stair tread approved for outdoor use is a product specially made for us which is A60512. Please copy and paste this link to visit this product, http://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-outdoor-use.asp?cid=50 Thank you, The Koffler Team
Can this stair tread be installed over OSB treads? Some of the OSB treads don't go all the way to the trim work, there is a small gap along the side. Will that be a problem? These are steps going to the basement that need to look good, but I want to avoid carpeting again.
Hi Sally, Thank you for your question. Yes, these can be installed over OSB treads. It would be important to fill the small gap before installing the Rubber Treads. Thank you, The Koffler Team
how do you secure them to the steps. I have 5 wooden steps that need covered in the garage, that lead into the family room entrance. Do you nail them or glue.
Hi Mike, Thank your for your question. The recommended method for installation is adhesive, which is located under the "Related Items" tab. Or, you copy and paste this link, http://kofflersales.com/p/stair-tread-latex-adhesive.asp Also, there are installation instructions listed under the "Specifications" tab. Thank you, The Koffler Team
what is the "v" symbol near some of the colors? How do I determine what a marbled color will look like?
Hi Debbie, Thank you for your question. The "V" symbol is for internal use. Under the colors tab is an image on the right showing what the marbleized style looks like, which is available in all standard colors shown. If you would like an exact sample of the marbleized color you are thinking about, please e-mail samples@kofflersales.com Thank you, The Koffler Team
Is there a matching riser material to match the Roppe A60513 treads?
Hi Michael, Thank you for your question. Yes, the risers are located on this page at the bottom below the stair tread sizes. Thank you, The Koffler Team
My question concerns the size. Is the smaller number the width of the flat part of the stair tread, or is it the flat part plus the nose?
Hi P. Dawson, Thank you for your questions. The small number (i.e. 12-1/2") is the depth of the stair tread. I think your saying the same thing which is the flat part. It does not include the nose. Thank you, The Koffler Team
Is that $18.00 each? I need something cheap for basement stairs
Hi Mike, Yes, that's $18.90 each for the 36" Rubber Safety Rib. However, you may want to look at our Vinyl Stair Treads, which are less expensive and should be fine for basement steps. Here is the link, http://kofflersales.com/vinyl-stair-treads.asp Thank you, The Koffler Team
1. can it be easily cut to fit a 29.5" long tread? 2. what is the best adhesive?
Hi. P. Toner, Thank you for your question. Yes this product can easily be cut with a utility knife. Thank you, The Koffler Team
