I'm looking to transition from a 3/4 inch rubber floor to AstroTurf. I'm wondering if you can point me in the right direction. I'm trying to reduce the possibility of any tripping.
Hi Nicholas,
Thank you for your question. 3/4" is not a very common size for traditional transitions. However, please take a look at this product. A4655

Hello - can you apply the adhesive directly to carpeting or do you need to apply it to the subfloor?
Hi Christine,
Thank you for your question. Yes, you have to apply it to the subfloor. Please go to this product page and go to the "Specification" tab. In the bottom right corner are the installation instructions.

I want to use #159 for edging on low profile carpet in heated garage area. Does this edging need to be glued? Or can it just lay on concrete?
Hi Jim,
Thank you for your question. The edging has to be glued. Also, please read the installation instructions listed in the "Specifications" tab, the bottom right of the page. Also, here is a link to the adhesive, https://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-and-corner-guard-adhesive.asp

I am transitioning from .14” (between an 1/8 and 3/16) carpet tiles to concrete floor. Was thinking roppe vinyl carpet edging #159. Can you confirm that would work?
Thanks!
HI Joe,
Thank you for your question. Yes, #159 that should work. You also may want to consider a Roppe reducer which should give you a smoother tapper to the concrete. Here is a link to that product, https://kofflersales.com/p/roppe-rubber-reducers.asp?cid=2623

Hello there.
I would like to put a finishing edge around 1/4" thick indoor outdoor carpeting in the garage. What adhesive should I use to attach the #177 Roppe Vinyl Carpet Edging to concrete? It is a small area. What is the smallest amount you sell and can you ship to California?
Thank you.
Hi Jean,
Thank you for your question. Here is a link to the recommended adhesive, our product A408. The smallest quantity available is a quart. https://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-and-corner-guard-adhesive.asp
Hello, I need a transition from low profile carpet to VCT tile flooring. Will the edging A507, #177 work for this. Use the transition adhesive A408? If another edge will work better please let me know. Thanks
Hi Mason,
Thank you for your question. Without knowing the thicknesses of your material it's hard to tell for sure. However, if you measured then yes #177 will work fine.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Do these ship in 12 ft strips or in a roll?
HI Wanda,
Thank you for your question. The 12ft. strips ship coiled/rolled.

Just found your site. FAQs seem to indicate that a curve is possible. Am looking at #159 for border of rectangular carpet, but want to round the corners. Carpet would sit on concrete floor. What is the smallest radius circle possible with this product? I understand that warming with a hair dryer may be needed. Thank you for your time.
Hi Diane,
Thank you for your question. Yes, a curve is possible for a 12' section, but a slight curve only. The corners can be mitered square but not rounded. Yes, a hair dryer will help you obtain a slight curve.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Do you have any non-metal outdoor carpet edging?
Hi Don,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately Rubber or Vinyl does not do well in the in cold or extreme heat. So we really don't have anything but metal for outdoor use.
Thank you,

I recently purchased #A516 CD-XX-W 80 Fawn. I have an angle between the two lengths of flooring I am transitioning. Is there a “joint” piece that will connect these two pieces and cover the cut-line where they meet? If so, is it best to just slide it into place, or use adhesive to make sure it stays in position? If not, any suggestions for finishing the seam?
Thank you for your help.
Hi Lee,
Thank you for your question. There are no joint pieces that are sold for hiding the connections. However, you can Mitre cut the pieces to the exact angle you need. Yes, please use a little adhesive to join the connections.

Are these strips flexible enough to provide a curved interface between vinyl and carpet
Hi Bud,
Thank your for your question. Yes, they are flexible to provide a curve between vinyl and carpet.
Thank you,

Hello! I'm trying to find a transitions strip that is thin enough that can be "concealed" under the doors once they are closed. Would this product work (#159)? We will have tile on one side of the door and carpet on the other.
Thanks,
Maria
Hi Maria,
Thank you for the question. Yes, this product will work as long as the thicknesses on each side matches the openings in the profiles. Also, here is a thinner product that you may like as well. Please copy and paste this link, http://kofflersales.com/p/slim-line-transitions.asp?cid=2584

I have laid 16"x16" rubber pavers (mats) on my patio and they are 1/2" thick do you have something that I can use as a ramp in front of the screen doors?

Hello. I'd like to use profile #159 to trim the border of my 1/8" thick VCT tile floor laid on Top of a concrete basement floor with nothing but about 3" of substrate concrete surrounding the tile. Unfortunately, the tile is already laid and glued so I won't be able to fit the thin 1"wide membrane underneath the existing tile. Is it possible to simply cut off that membrane (maybe with a utility knife) and glue the trim to the top of the tile?
Hi Philip,
Thank you for your question. You can certainly cut off the membrane. However, please take a look at these products, http://kofflersales.com/p/roppe-rubber-reducers.asp?cid=2584 http://kofflersales.com/p/reducers.asp?cid=2584 http://kofflersales.com/p/roppe-rubber-thresholds.asp?cid=2584

I want to install 177 in a radius of 11 feet on 1/8 tile to 6.5 mm wood on the other will this work on curve
HI Jerry,
Thank you for your question. Yes, this will work on a curve. You may need to heat it a bit with a hair dryer to achieve the radius but most likely for 11ft. it will create a nice radius on it's own.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Hi
Interested in using the Roppe Vinyl Carpet Edging - #A507 for an area in our office reception. It will be used with 24"x24" carpet tiles (4x4 tiles altogether). We are using the carpet adhesive tape for the tiles, can we used this edging without gluing it down to the floor? Also how we do the corners? We want it mitered at corners (45 degree angle), how do we join the edges?
Hi Tansri,
Thank you for your question. We would not recommend installing this product without using the proper adhesive, here is the link http://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-and-corner-guard-adhesive.asp Yes, you can mitre the corners and add a bit of the adhesive to the mitered joint.
Thank you,

Hello, I have a 3 mm vinyl plank flooring which transitions to carpet. Which would be the best threshold? I was initially thinking of #177 but after reading some QA's noticed the T-Molding adapter may be recommended? I have a pad under the carpet which gives it extra height, however, the pad can be removed back a bit where the transition/threshold will be placed to lower the height. Suggestions? Thank you!
Hi Zach,
Thank you for your question. Our Johnsonite T-Molding (#A516) is our most popular and should do a nice job in this application. Probably consider using profiles CE-XX-A or CD-XX-B.
Thanbk you,
The Koffler Team
Hi. Our 6 month puppy keeps chewing the carpet where it meets the tile by front door and kitchen. The carpet is over cement flooring and the dog has now exposed the carpet tack board that butts up against the tile. Would we have to remove the carpet tack strips to use the vinyl carpet edging? I am hoping this edging will work, if we can figure out how to install it so it is "Milo" proof. Thank you.
Hi GR,
Thank you for your question. Yes, you would have to simple remove the carpet tack to apply the edging.
Thank you,

I'm wanting to replace some pre-existing metal edging going from carpet to tile floor. It appears that the height of both is about 1/8th of an inch. Which style would you recommend?
Hi Mitchell,
Thank you for your question. We would recomend #159.

Will Roppe Vinyl Carpet Edging #177 work as a transition between carpet and wood flooring?

Hello
I have a wood stairs and wood landings. I want to put carpet tile on the landing, it's profile is 5/16" and I would like to finish the edge off with the vinyl edging - thinking of using # 195, since I do not see a transition that can accommodate the thickness of the carpet and be flush with the wood floor.
Hi Simone,
Thank you for you questions. You may want to also look at Roppe's Vinyl Stair Nosing to finish the edge of your landing, product #A799. Please copy and paste this link to view this product, http://kofflersales.com/p/roppe-vinyl-stair-nosing.asp?cid=59

What transition do I need for berber carpet to tile?
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your question. It really depends on how thick the Berber is. You can see on this product page, in the upper right images area CAD diagrams of each profile. You can pick the profile that corresponds to the thickness of your carpet.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Hi, I need a 30 inch piece of vinyl edger for door way transition, anyway I can pay to have it cut?
Hi Gale,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this product is shipped directly from our factory and therefore we can't custom cut it. However, it's not that difficult for you to cut it yourself. All you need is a sharp utility knife.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
I have a 5/8" carpet and 5 mm vinyl floor. Would the #177 be a good fit to transition between the two floors?
Hi D. Hunter,
Thank you for your question. With your carpet side measuring 5/8" it appears it will be too high for the #177 profile, as it only measures 1/4". Please take a look at Johnsonite's T-Molding Vinyl Adapter, profile #CD-XX-B.
To go directly to that page please cut and paste this link, http://kofflersales.com/p/t-molding-adapters.asp?cid=2584

I will be placing a 6'x18' piece of indoor/outdoor carpet on an outside balcony, can Roppe Vinyl Carpet Edging A507 be used on the 6" edge to prevent carpet from rolling up and creating a trip hazard? I do not plan to glue down the edging and will roll up the carpet when not in use.
Hi Dolores,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the rubber and vinyl edging is not recommended for outdoor use.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
I would be using the carpet edging for the edge of carpet tiles in a compartment on a ship. The surface it would need to adhere to is aluminum. What type of adhesive do you advise to use that will stick best to the aluminum and the edging.
Thanks,
BM1 Santoyo
Hi thank you for your question. The best adhesive would be our A402 Epoxy adhesive. You would just have to make sure you rough up the surface with a wire brush before applying the glue.
Thank you for visiting our site!

I am laying carpet down over top of existing tile. I would like to edge out the carpet so I would need the edging to be flat to the floor on one side and 3/8" on the other. I am planning on sticking it to the floor with two sided tape which is what we used to adhere the carpet to the floor. Do you have a product like this or any advise for what can be used for this transition? Thank you for any and all help.
Hi Tiffany,
Thank you for your question. There are a few edging solutions, please copy and paste these links. Also, we recommend using an adhesive rather then carpet tape. Koffler's recommended adhesive is located in the "Related Items" tab on the product pages.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there are no other lengths this product comes in.

Installed interface carpet tiles against vinyl plank. 3/8" carpet vs. 5 mm vinyl. Both medium gray. What transition products fits?
Hi Fred,

I have placed snap-together wood/plastic outdoor floor tiles on our large patio an need an edging material that will accomodate the one-inch high tiles, that will work outdoors. Thanks in advance Koffler, richard
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your question. No this product is not approved for outdoor use. The only product that we carry that might work is our A614, http://kofflersales.com/p/carpet-edging-metal-trim.asp?cid=2584

We are looking to install a carpet runner on vinyl plank flooring, but are concerned about patients tripping, or maneuvering walkers and wheelchairs over the edge. The runner would be 46 feet long. Do you have an edging that long that would lie flat on the floor and slope up to the carpet depth?
Hi Cheri,
Thank you for your question. Our Carpet Edging is designed for use on carpet, not for matting. However we carry a variety of entrance matting in standard and custom cut lengths, some of which have tapered edging. Please visit this page or feel free to give us a call at 888-355-6287. http://kofflersales.com/main-entrance-mats.asp

I have large area rugs whose edges continue to seperate from the rug. The last repair bill was $500 plus. THis is a residential home and the rugs are in the common rooms and those edhes see a lot of traffic. Which product if any would you suggest, please keep in mind easy installation will be necessary we will need to DIY.
thanks,
Adrienne
Hi Adrienne,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately non of our products are used to protect the edges of area rugs.
They are used to protect carpet edges.

which product would you recommend to transition from carpet to lamanite floor, plus it is not square it needs to be bendable to follow the rounded turn on the edge.
Hi Randy,
Thank your for your question. We would recommend these products which can be curved in a radius. Please look at their Specification files for radius details listed under their Specifications Tab. http://kofflersales.com/p/slim-line-transitions.asp?cid=2584,http://kofflersales.com/p/roppe-vinyl-reducers.asp?cid=2584

Hi,
I live in England and am so pleased to find what I think I have been looking for amongst your vast array of products.
Carpet Edging Vinyl by Roppe - #A507
Would it be possible to send two samples please??
A sample of profile #159 in 182 colour toffee, and
A sample of profile #177 in 110 colour brown?
Unfortunately, I am looking for only a small quantity of 3.6 metres (One length of 12 feet) and will understand if this is prohibitive.
I look forward to your reply
David C Cook
Hi David,
Thank you for your question. Please send your address and sample request to, samples@kofflersales.com and we will be more than happy to send them out.

I am replacing vinyl flooring with 3/8"x36"x36" carpet tiles. I want a transition strip from this carpet tile to an existing low pile shag carpet. Will the #182 profile accommodate this application? If not do you have suggestions? Thanks,
Thank you for your question. This should work as long as your existing carpet is not more or less than 3/16", as one side of this transition is 3/16 and one is 3/8. If your existing carpet is a different thickness, please let me know and I can try to find the correct item for you.
Do you offer express or overnight shipping?
Hi Tim,
Thank you for your question. Yes we offer express or overnight shipping. You can either call us at, 888-355-6287 or place the order on-line and note the overnight shipping request in the Special Instructions.

How do I cut a 90 deg angle in the edging so I can have a continuous piece of edging around my tile?
Hi Tony,
Thank you for your question. You can use an electric Miter saw to give you the most accurate cut.

I have a curved section in our entry way one part brick flooring and the other laminate wood with a gap between the two. Does your vinyl moulding bend to fit the gap?
Hi Mitzi,
Thank you for your question. It really depends on the arch of the bend. It bends slightly for a very gradual bend. If you would like please e-mail me an image at customerservice@kofflersales.com and I can take a look at it for you.
Thank you.
