Description

Ardex SKM™ Skim Coat Finish A trowelable patch and skim coat, is designed for interior applications and can be used over surfaces like concrete, wood, tile, and stone that are not sensitive to moisture, as well as on concrete with non-water soluble adhesive residues such as cutback.

  • It is a non-sanded formula and can be applied from a featheredge up to 1/2? (12 mm) thickness
  • Furthermore, you can walk on the treated surface and install floor coverings in as little as 30 minutes
  • Has a creamy texture that makes it exceptionally easy to apply

Construction Details:

  • Priming: No need for priming
  • Mixing: Mix with 1.5 quarts (1.4L) of water per 10lb (5kg) bag or follow a ratio of 3 parts powder to 1 part water by volume
  • Thickness: Suitable for feathered edges up to 1/2" (12mm)
  • Pot Life: Workable for 15 minutes
  • Ready to Walk On: Can be walked on after just 30 minutes
  • When used with tile and Portland cement-based setting materials that are not sensitive to moisture It typically sets in about 30 minutes when applied as a skim coat
  • When applied at thicknesses greater than 1/16", it generally takes around 60 to 90 minutes to set
  • Suitable substrates: concrete, Absorbent terrazzo on concrete, Plywood subfloors, Solid hardwood, Other approved non-porous materials: Non-porous (non-absorbent) cementitious terrazzo, Ceramic, quarry, or porcelain tiles, Surfaces with non-water-soluble adhesive residue, concrete treated with specific curing compounds
