Floora, did you know every corner guard on this page is PVC-free? Construction Specialties builds the Acrovyn line that way, which is why it turns up in specifications that carry a material restriction. Six series sit here, and they cover vinyl, polycarbonate, stainless steel, aluminum and rubber.

Here is what to settle when you choose CS Acrovyn corner guards:

  • Series
VA is self-stick. SM and SSM are the shock retainer systems. CO-8 is stainless, ACO-8 is aluminum, LG is clear Lexan, and the rubber line is EPDM.
  • Impact Level
The shock retainer series absorbs the hit and lets a damaged cover come off on its own. Self-stick suits a corner that takes hands and carts rather than vehicles.
  • Color
The Acrovyn series carry 59 solid colors and 30 Chameleon colors. Stainless, aluminum and Lexan arrive in one finish each.

Buying Tip: Check whether the specification names a series. Acrovyn is written into drawings by series code, so CO-8 and SM-20 are the words that matter on the order.

Thank you, Wally! Acrovyn installs three ways, and the series tells you which one. Here is how to plan it:

  • Self-Stick
The VA series arrives with factory applied self-adhesive tape, so it goes straight onto a clean, dry, cured wall.
  • Retainer
The SM and SSM series screw a retainer to the corner, then the cover snaps over it. Choose the aluminum retainer for maximum shock absorbency, or the PVC-free regrind retainer in flexible PETG.
  • Adhesive or Screws
The stainless and aluminum series take construction adhesive or screws. The Lexan series arrives pre-drilled, with chrome plated metal screws, and the 3/4 inch size includes nails.
  • Radius
The snap on covers come in a 1/4 inch radius on SM-20 and SSM-20, or a 1 inch bull nose radius on SM-10 and SSM-10.

Buying Tip: Order the cover color and the retainer together. The retainer stays on the wall for years, so the cover is the part you will reorder.

CS Acrovyn Corner Guards From Construction Specialties

Acrovyn is the wall protection line from Construction Specialties, and every corner guard on this page is PVC-free. That is the reason most buyers arrive here: a specification that rules PVC out still needs a guard that takes daily impact. Six series cover the range, from a self-stick vinyl strip to a Type 304 stainless steel profile. Wings run from 3/4 inch to 3-1/2 inches, and lengths reach 12 feet. For the wider catalog across every brand we stock, start at corner guards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are CS Acrovyn corner guards PVC-free?

Yes. Construction Specialties builds the Acrovyn line PVC-free, and the VA and LG product pages state it directly. The SM and SSM series also offer a PVC-free regrind retainer in flexible PETG as an alternative to aluminum.

What is the difference between the VA and SM series?

How they mount. VA is self-stick, with factory applied adhesive tape and no retainer. SM and SSM screw a retainer to the corner and snap a cover over it. That is the original shock absorbing design, and it lets a damaged cover be replaced on its own.

What do SM-10, SM-20, SSM-10 and SSM-20 mean?

The number describes the cover radius. SM-20 and SSM-20 take a 1/4 inch radius cover. SM-10 and SSM-10 take a 1 inch bull nose. The SSM prefix denotes the second retainer option in the same family.

What gauge is the CO-8 stainless steel corner guard?

16 gauge Type 304, in a No. 4 satin finish. Legs come 2 inch and 3-1/2 inch, in 4, 8, 10 and 12 foot lengths, with a 90 degree corner at a 3/16 inch radius.

How many colors do Acrovyn corner guards come in?

59 solid colors and 30 Chameleon colors on the VA, SM and SSM series. The metal and clear series arrive in a single finish each: No. 4 satin on CO-8, clear anodized on ACO-8, and clear on LG.

Which Acrovyn series suits a loading dock or a garage?

The EPDM rubber series. It resists heat, aging and weather and holds up against water swell, with 2-15/16 inch or 3-15/16 inch legs at 9 feet 10 inches, and screws included.
