Questions others have asked:I am going into a rental home with a Trex stair entry. I am worried about my 3 legged aging dog slipping but I don't want to add the epoxy. Does the rubber construction alone keep these from slipping?
Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your question. If you are talking about our Rubber Stair Treads, unfortunately they do require adhesive to stay in place. Some of our customers have applied anti slip tape to their steps. Please take a look at these products: https://kofflersales.com/p/anti-slip-abrasive-tape.asp?cid=23 https://kofflersales.com/p/bath-shower-anti-slip-tape.asp?cid=23

Is one quart of A402 Epoxy sufficient to attach 12 A693 corner guards to a semi-rough surface?about the
Hi Jack,
Thank you for your question. Yes, the quart (2 part) epoxy should be sufficient to cover 12 of the A693 rubber corner guards. We assume you are talking about the rubber corner guards as that's the one that takes the epoxy, not the vinyl.

Hello: I recently ordered Epoxy #5 but received Epoxy #10. Are these the same product? I need to affix rubber stair treads with round nose over wood substrate, is Epoxy #10 the correct product to use for this? Will it work for both adhesion and filling? Thank you.
Hi Randall,
Thank you for your question. Yes, #5 and #10 are interchangeable. Also, you can use it for both adhesive and for filling.

I have the Rubber Epoxy Adhesive #A402. It was used as an adhesive for carpet to cement floor. Is there a way to remove the adhesive from the floor/carpet (heat/solvent/etc)? Thank you for your time.
Hi Brett,
Thank you for your question. Dry adhesive is difficult to remove and may discolor flooring materials. As such, wet adhesive or adhesive residue should be removed immediately using a clean cloth and denatured alcohol or equivalent. If adhesive has hardened onto the surface of material, gently remove adhesive and clean area with denatured alcohol or equivalent. Once wet or dry adhesive is removed, rinse area with a clean towel or cloth and a solution of Excelsior NC-900 and clean, potable water. Area may be permanently discolored from adhesive. Tools where adhesive has dried can be cleaned mechanically with denatured alcohol or equivalent and an abrasive pad or tool. Do not apply solvents directly to flooring materials.
We also carry the NC-900. Just mention that in the "Special Instructions" of your order, or feel free to call us.
Thank you,

I only need to transition from kitchen to living room which is about 36". I don't need a gallon of epoxy. Do you have smaller quantities? Can I get this kind of epoxy in a smaller quantity anywhere else?
Hi Kay,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately a gal. is our only size.

Looking for instructions on how to mix Epoxy Adhesive For Stair Treads, Nosing part a and part b and Corner Guards - #A402 and how do I apply it to the rubber stair nosing that I purchased through your site? I am applying it in doors and it will be sticking to my stairs on top of vinyl peel and stick tiles that cover the wooden stairs. Thank you for your time I appreciate it.

We are considering purchasing your non-slip outdoor use treads #A60512. We would be putting them on top of existing concrete stairs. What temperature is required for the adhesive to work properly? Thank you.
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. The recommended temperature should not be less than 60 degrees during and one week after installation. For complete installation instructions please visit the link to our Outdoor Rubber Stair Treads and look under the "Specifications" tab in the lower right corner, http://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-outdoor-use.asp?cid=50

Hi, I am interested in putting rubber stair treads on outdoor stairs at an apartment building. The stairs have brick like tile pavers which I would say are porous. I bought a couple of rubber stair treads to test with and have not had luck in using the proper adhesive that will bond and permanently attach the rubber stair tread to the tile. We are in Miami, FL where its hot, humid and can rain alot during certain months. Do you think the A402 will work for me? Thanks.
Hi Arlene,
Thank you for your question. Yes it will work only for rubber stair treads approved for outdoor use. Most rubber stair treads are not approved. Here is a link to our outdoor rubber treads. http://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-outdoor-use.asp?cid=50

I am renting an apartment that has stone tile stairs. We are worried that our 2 year old could fall and hit the corner of the stairs so i am looking at the stair nosing options. If i need to remove them when i vacate the apartment will the adhesive come off or is it permanent? What other options do i have? Thank you.
Hi Warren,
Thank you for your question. The adhesive should come off with strong elbow grease and adhesive remover. However, we recommend you try a small section first to make sure it can be removed, as certain stone surfaces may vary. We really don't see any other options.
Thank you,

I need a set of 5 outdoor use rubber stair covers. I want to buy the epoxy also but can not find out any limits on cold weather use. The job I am working on is outside in Buffalo NY. How cold can it be to use the epoxy adhesive?
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it's recommended that the room and adhesive should be 70°F. (21°C.) 48 hours prior to, during and after installation. You may want to look at this product which can be bolted into most surfaces. http://kofflersales.com/p/stair-treads-and-nosing-fiberglass.asp?cid=49
