I would like to put a non slip coating on the metal step on an older diving board.
The step is painted metal about 8" deep by 20" wide.
What do you recommend?
Thanks,
Hi John,
Thank you for your question. We would recommend this product for sure, as long as the step isn't submerged in water all the time. Also here is a link to another product you might consider A6411, http://kofflersales.com/p/extreme-condition-non-slip-tape.asp?cid=23

Does this product work on tile shower. My mom is 102 and it is hard for her to get in and out of the shower. I need something reliable so she won't slip at all. She will not use the tub. Thank You, Shirley
Hi Shirley,
Thank you for your question. Yes this product works real well in tile showers. Please make sure you don't install it over grout. However it can easily be cut with a scissors and installed around the grout.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Can the Product be used to go over a grouted tile on a shower floor - 4"x4" smooth tile or would we have to cut the strips into small pieces to fit onto each tile piece so as not to go over the grout. Thank you.
Hi Susan,
Thank you for your question. Yes, this product can go over 4" x 4" tile as long as the tile has a smooth surface. If there is a large grout groove, please make sure you press the tape into the groove as firm as possible.
Thank you,

Looking for a something to put on concrete stairs in a K-12, 700 students) school - to keep students and staff from slipping during wet and winter weather. It MUST be durable AND moppable - easily cleaned. The current strips catch the mop strings.
Hi Kendall,
Thank you for your question. We would recommend our Anti Slip Tape #A636. It is extremely durable and holds up to the winter weather. Please copy and paste this link to view, http://kofflersales.com/p/anti-slip-abrasive-tape.asp?cid=23

How do you clean the tape, especially from hard-water rust stains, mold and general discoloration from soap and the above? Can the tape be destroyed by oxalic acid or other acids that are used for cleaning hoard water and soap stains?
Hi Leeta,
Thank you for your question. Please use soap and water or a surface cleaner to clean this product. We would not recommend any type of acids. You may also want to experiment with a little bleach by trying one small section.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
I just placed an order; your website said next day shipping. When my order was sent; a message came up saying orders could take up to 3 weeks. The page closed before I could read the entire information. I need this tape for my mom. If it will take 3 weeks. I need to cancel my order. Please advise. Thank you!
Hi Brenda,
Thank you for your question. Typically this product does ship next day. Please feel free to give us a call in the morning and we can confirm that your order will that same day.

When installing this on an acrylic shower base, how long afterward do we need to wait before showering?
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your question. Good bonding time after application is 24-48 hours. Full bonding time is 72 hours.

Can i use this on a textured tub
Hi Matt,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, you need a smooth surface, unless the texture is very faint.

We are refinishing hardwood stairs in a church. We want to apply some non skid tape to avoid slick stairs when it rains and people have wet shoes. What do you suggest is the safest product to use?
Hi Isabel,
Thank you for your question. We suggest our Non-Slip Tape #A636). However, please be aware it may take the finish off if you remove it. It happens to be the perfect solution for your application. What is the difference between KSC Resilient and 3M™ Safety-Walk™ Resilient?
I want to use a product to cover holes I plan to patch in a shower stall. The holes are from a shower door I'm replacing with a curtain. Some holes go up the sides and others are on the ledge you step over.
Hi Eric,
Thank you for your question. The products are very similar. 3M has a bit more of an aggressive grit. Please make sure the surface is completely smooth and dry otherwise the adhesive will not bond right.
Thanks you,
The Koffler Team
I see you indicate the Non Slip Tape Bath Shower 3M™ and KSC - #A638 should not be used in a pool where it will be fully submerged. Do you have any product that can be used for that use? I am looking for a non-skid tape or product I can apply to the steps of my pool.
Thank you,
Rob Uibel
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have a product for that application. We have been looking for years for a product like that. If you come across anything, please feel free to let us know.

I need to prevent falls on my new porch steps and porch. This will be put on porch boards by Wolfe which is not real wood and is much like Trex floorboards for porches. . My porch is a light grey in color.it does not have a grain to it which would help prevent slipping. Should I use the clear or the white tape? Will the tape turn yellow in the sun? This will be outside in harsh weather. Will it hold up? Is it waterproof? Thank you.
Hi KAren,
Thank you for your question. The product on this page is for wet areas like showers and tubs. We would highly recommend our product A636, please feel free to copy and paste this link. http://kofflersales.com/non-slip-tape-anti-skid-adhesive.asp
The product will hold up in harsh weather and should not yellow. Either color is good, or you might also think of the Grey.
Thank you,

Hello,
Which size and color/model do you recommend for a white bath tub? I've slipped and dislocated my knee several times already. Clear or white? Can you tell me what size strip for my standard sized bath tub too? Thank you. I don't really take baths, just showers.
Hi Leslie,
Thank you for your question. Both colors would work. However, it might be easier to install the White, as it's easier to see. You can use 1 box of the 1" x 12" or if you don't care about looks, maybe use 3 boxes of the 4" x 9" for extra slip protection.
Thank you,

Will either the KSC or 3M tape adhere to glass floor tiles in a shower?
Hi Paulanne,
Thank you for your question. Yes, this product will adhere to glass floor tiles in a shower. Please make sure the surface is extremely clean and dry.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Hi, Do we need to stick direct on the floor tile or need some product(primer or edge sealing compound) to use with?
Hi Chhoeurn,
Thank you for your question. In a typical low to medium traffic area, there is no need for edge sealer. As for the primer, if the surface is very clean and dry, you would not need primer as well. However, if the surface has some dirt and grime it would be best to use our primer. Please copy and paste this link to view our primer, http://kofflersales.com/p/3m-anti-slip-tape-sealer-and-primer.asp

Can this tape be used on a metal safety bar in a shower? I am looking for somthing so the grap bar is not slippery when wet.
Hi Marilyn,
Thank you for your question. This product is designed for a flat vertical surface. However, you may want to try a small piece to test it out.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Wondering if you could 'recommend anything to improve nonskid bottom of shower pan? Very slippery for elderly father. Is there any type of permanent coating? Best adhesives?
Hi,
Thank you for your question. This product is perfect for creating a non-slip surface in a shower. We do offer a permanent coating, however the surface should be hard and not at all flexible, as the coating will then begin to crack off. Here is a link to that product, http://kofflersales.com/p/chemsol-anti-slip-coating.asp?cid=62
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
I have 1/4" x 3" crack on the transom of my boat I plan on filling with a sealer then apply some strips over it it's salt water but rarely gets wet except for rain is this ok. Thanks
Hi Pat,
Thank you for your question. Continual exposure to salt water will break the product down. If there's hardly any exposure to salt water, then this product should be fine.
Thank you,

I have a Jeep Wrangler and would like to cover the top of my rear bumper on either side of my spare tire so my dog's nails don't damage the paint. I'm thinking about the KCS Resilient. Would that be tough enough to withstand dog nails? I'd like to keep it as thin as possible.
Hi Dave,
Thank you for your question. We have never had a question like this. However, other customers have purchased this product to provide protection and traction for their dogs on steps. We would recommend testing a small area first, to see how well it works.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
I would like to know what the main difference is between this product and A638 http://www.kofflersales.com/p/bath-shower-anti-slip-tape.asp?cid=23
High Patrick,
Thank you for your question. Both of these products you sent us links to A638. A638 is for abate feet applications, such as showers and tub areas. Maybe you meant A636, which is to be used for areas were there is shoe traffic, such as ramps steps and warehouse floors. Here is the link for A636, http://kofflersales.com/non-slip-tape-anti-skid-adhesive.asp.

I want shower tape that is rremovable. Sometimes when we stay at a hotel, the shower is slick, but we don't want to put down permanent tape. Is that available?
Hi Joan,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately when our show tape is applied, it sticks real well and stays in place.
Thank You,
The Koffler Team
Im looking at your non skid ksc tape for a boat application and would like to know if it sticks to fiberglass. It wont be submerged, just on the deck.
Hi Andy,
Thank you for your question. Yes, this product sticks to fiberglass. Also, feel free to look A640, you can copy and paste this URL, http://kofflersales.com/p/foam-anti-slip-tape.asp?cid=23

Hi Mr. Dones
Thank you for your question. This product is ideal for your pool flooring application.

What is the cleanability of this material? What types of chemicals can and have been used to clean it? Has this material been used in a hospital environment? Can you identify other hospitals that have used your material?
Thank you.
Hi Scott,
Thank you for your question. To clean this product you can use soap and water, or an all purpose cleaner. Yes this material has been used in hospital environments. Here are just a few hospitals who have used this product:
-NEW ENGLAND REHAB HOSPITAL
-PALO PINTO GENEAL HOSPITAL
-CROUSE HOSPITAL

Will the 1" 3M tape stick to a not smooth shower floor? I'm looking for a solution to a slippery floor for my father, whose shower floor has a finish that may be non-skid but isn't enough. This finish isn't an add on, but came with the shower.
Hi Janice,
Thank you for your question. The floor does need to be smooth in order to provide the right adhesion.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
I am looking for something that has a non-slip texture for a tub. My mother-in-law has Parkinson's Disease and has difficulty picking up her feet, she mostly slides them around, therefore tub mats are no longer a safe option. I bought textured adhesive strips that came up after the first shower. Will this product work? Thank you for your time and response.
Hi Carolyn,
Thank you for your question. Yes, this is the ideal product for your mother's tub. We have had excellent success with it for over 10 years.
Thank you,

I'm looking to apply grip tape to outdoor wooden steps heading down to a lake. This is in central Maine and we often see winter snows of 2-feet deep or more. Will the grip tape survive the cold temperatures and snow melt?
Also, this area will have both bare-foot traffic and shoe traffic. What is the difference between the regular 3M/KSC grip tape and the shower/bath 3M/KSC grip tape? Is the grit different? Is the coating thicker?
Would it be possible to get small sample strips to compare before buying?
Thanks,
Greg
Hi Gregory,
Thank you for your question. We would recommend the 3M/KSC Grip Tape. The shower/bath tape is for wet areas and has less traction and yes, the coating is thicker. Another solution is our Lava Grip, http://kofflersales.com/p/extreme-condition-non-slip-tape.asp?cid=23
You can request a sample of each. Just send us an e-mail to: samples@kofflersales.com

I would like a clear non slip tape for use on my maple interior stairs. They are sealed with polyurethane. I have dogs and small children and the steps are well traveled. Is this the product you would recommend for this use? How long can I expect it to last?
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your question. This product should last for a extremely long time. Of course the exact amount of years is hard to predict as it depends on the amount of traffic, correct application, and cleaning solvents (directions included).
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
Can this product be used on Fiberglass pool steps and stay submerged in water? Thanks
Hi Ross,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this product to be fully submerged for that long of a time.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team.
What is the difference between the KSC Resilient and the 3M™ Safety-Walk™ Resilient? I want to use this in a bathtub/shower and I want them to be permanent.
Hi Bob,
Thank you for your question. Both products are great for the bathtub/shower. The 3M is a bit more slip resistant (course). They both will last about the same length of time.
Thank you,
The Koffler Team
